Aideen was appointed to the post of Divisional Medical Director in an Acute Hospital Trust in October 2024.
Prior to taking up this post Aideen was Director for Quality Improvement (QI) at the Public Health Agency (PHA) of Northern Ireland (N.I.). As Director of QI Aideen led the on-going design and development of the N.I. Health and Social Care Quality Improvement and Innovation Network (HSCQI).
Aideen is a Scottish Patient Safety Programme Fellow, a Health Foundation Generation Q Fellow and has a master’s in leadership and quality improvement. Aideen is also a member of the Health Foundation Q Community.
Aideen is a graduate of Queens University Belfast Medical School and is a Fellow of the College of Anaesthetists (RCSI) Dublin. While completing her anaesthesia training Aideen undertook clinical fellowships in Dublin, Glasgow, London, and Melbourne. Prior to being appointed to Director posts, Aideen worked for many years as a Consultant in Paediatric Anaesthesia and Paediatric Intensive Care delivering acute frontline care.
